Ghana won the bid after winning majority of the votes cast against Morocco at the Armwrestling Federation of Africa (AFA) Congress held in Lagos, Nigeria, last year.

He noted that Ghana’s hosting of the event is also to promote tourism and affirm Ghana’s hospitality to Africa and the world and attract corporate Ghana to invest in the sport.
